This is long overdue...
23rd, Jun, 2009 | 10:34 pm
First of all, I am so damn sorry for not having posted anything for so long!! But, who really cares? I don't think anyone really reads this page now. You all have probably long given up on me.
Anyhoose, it's been pretty good in London so far. I am finding myself slowly falling in love with this place. I can't believe I have been here for almost a year. I feel like my journey has only just started!! It's true when they say you have to give it a year before London grows on you. I don't want to leave this place. The mere thought of it saddens me and I feel like I am already missing London. The parks, plays, musicals, queer folks on the streets, cheap travels, countryside, little hidden streets, clotted cream, scones, tea, shopping and occasional spottings of celebs (Lindsay Lohan - not that I really care - Dustin Hoffman) and everything else - sigh. I don't wanna head back home!!
Nobody (apart from people who live here) really understands how outrageously cheap it is to travel around Europe from London. Last month, I went to Milan for only 10 pounds - one way ticket. The ticket back did cost more but it was still overall quite affordable! I mean, where can you go from Singapore for 80 dollars tops?! By plane? Hah. Even if some say Malaysia, how can you possibly compare THAT to like Italy or Germany or Norway. Speaking of which, I will be going to Norway in August with Pat!!! Exciting times. And then in September, it will be Germany! Trying to squeeze in France, Switzerland and Prague as well.
I really can't bothered to post pictures but most of you will have me on FB anyway so all the pictures are and will be there!
I also realised that I have overtaken a different outlook of life since I have been here. I am happier. Although there are struggles of having money here and there and worrying about having enough money to take the damn tube to work and buy food, it somehow always manages to find its way out. So... not too bothered. Yeah, I say that now. Lol.
So, that's really about it for now. Still working for the same company. Again, can't believe I have stuck with it for almost a year. Good lordy. That's quite a feat for such a mundane job. It gives me no excitement at all but it pays my rent and travels so... Can't complain hey?!
Well, I don't know when the next update will be but I do hope all's well! Ciao ciao! xx

Living Alone...
30th, Aug, 2008 | 09:54 pm
I've always wanted to live alone. Now's my chance. I finally get to do it. But, let me tell you, it's not easy.
Now, we all know, I don't cook. But, I don't have a choice now. And, cooking really isn't that bad. I'm starting to enjoy it? But, I'm too lazy to prepare a feast so easy simple meals does it for me. First ever proper food I cooked was aglio olio linguine - Need major improvement. Bland like fuck.
Second meal, was cod fish fillets. Too salty. I lathered it with the sambal chilli I brought over from Singapore though. So, it tasted pretty yummy after that.
Gordon Ramsay, I need you now. I need you to teach me simple easy to cook meals that are not a chore. Or, you could just come and cook for me!
What else happened..... Oooh.... This place I'm living in right now, everything is dysfunctional. The lightbulb in my room went off. I'm now surviving with a bedside lamp so really I make fuuulll use of the sunlight during the day.
I was pissed drunk last night - by 8pm. Yeah. Haha. Early huh. Reached home about 9. Don't know how the hell I managed it back but I did. Fell asleep on my floor. Literally, like I think I actually fell to the floor. Woke up, started puking, on the floor (I never puke!). Decided to drag my drunken self to the bathroom by hook or by crook. Sat in the bath tub and showered. Then I decided to have a warm bath to make myself feel better. And....... the drainage thing got stuck, so I couldn't drain the water. This evening, before I took a shower, I had to laboriously scoop at least 70 pots (don't have a pail) of water out of the tub so I wouldn't flood the entire place.
My god. I need my man! Thank god there's Kenny (Alex's flat mate). But, even he couldn't solve the tub issue. Lol. I miss my home and the convenience of a father to fix things when needed. And, Emma's or Florine's cooking.
Oh. And, I've only done my laundry once since I have been here. Which means, once in three weeks now. Haha. Too lazy. Too much of a chore. Supermarket shopping is fun though!
So yeah, in a nutshell, living alone - not easy. But I love it. =)

London so far...
21st, Aug, 2008 | 11:55 pm
Heyy, how's everyone back wherever you are??? Finally, the long awaited post. Sorry guys! Just really really lazy to post on my journal. Holy smokes, it's been a while hasn't it?
So, it has been more than 2 weeks since I have been here. Those who know what I had to go through to get here would be like 'yeah finally ne'. Haha. Oh well. Better late than never they say.
I think London's overhyped up. Things here are pretty ordinary? Don't know. Didn't feel the excitement when I arrived. But, things are looking up! Already started work at the Australian property co I was working for in Singapore. It's a very small office with only 3 people. But, things will start getting busy in September when the property exhibition starts. I am a bit tired of working man. I just want a brainless job for a while and holiday!!
Next week should be fun. Monday's Notting Hill Carnival and Pat and I are probably going to Manchester next Tuesday. Transport here is a bitch. Fucking expensive. Other than that, it really isn't too bad if you were to live dollar to dollar I guess.
Oohh... I watched England VS Czech Republic LIVE at Wembely Stadium!! One of my dreams come true. Saw Ferdinand, Rooney, Beckham, Stevie!!, Terry, Cole, Baros etc... It was amazingggg..... Crowd was brilliant. There were 67, 723 people at the stadium. There was this guy seated behind us who kept making comments like "yeah 60 million pounds for that eh?" when some english fella (can't rem who) lost the ball. He was damn sarcastic lol. Thought he was an old man, turned around and he was just a kid! Barely 18. Going home was shite though. Imagine jostling with at least 40,000 people to get to the tube station... My god.
So - pictures are up on FB people. Go feast yourselves. I'm really tired right now - not feeling well - down with a fever yesterday and having a really really bad sore throat like I can barely swallow anything, that kind, you know what I mean.
Alas, time to bid goodnight. Talk soon peeps and keep in touch yeah? Val, Ann, Pei Shi, Tannie and all, I hope Singapore's just getting more fun everyday. Adrienne, I miss you babe. Have a good one in Ozzyy. Everybody else, take care and speak soon!! Heartss

Something that's just been bugging me all day and night...
19th, Sep, 2007 | 10:22 pm
Racism
Preference
Opinion
Judgement
Impression
There are the little differences in each of these words. But, someone said that they all mean one thing. "Racism is in everyone. It really is. It lies deep down in yourself. Deep down. You will find it."
I just can't stop thinking about it! I refuse to believe it does and I'm trying to reason it out. Thoughts, anyone??
And, is being judgemental only human? This could really go on forever...

Disco Party Bus!
30th, Jul, 2007 | 10:18 pm
Disco party bus last Saturday... Mama Mia! It was such good fun really... And I swear I could imagine which kinda guy I would completely find hot in the 70's. Awesome disco music. Not as good as Halloween two years ago (which was terribly wicked btw) but still had as much fun as we possibly could. Anyway, had a effing good time and check out the pictures below!
